Financial Aid for Bible Colleges and Seminaries
Federal aid, denominational scholarships, church support, and employer assistance — a stack that can cover most of your tuition.

Federal aid basics
If your school is regionally accredited (or nationally accredited with Title IV eligibility), you can file the FAFSA to access:
- Direct Unsubsidized Loans — up to $20,500/year for grad students
- Grad PLUS Loans — up to cost of attendance
- Pell Grants — for eligible undergraduates only
Many strictly ATS-only seminaries don't participate in Title IV. Check before you assume federal aid is available.
Denominational scholarships
Most denominations offer matched grants when your local church contributes toward your tuition. Southern Baptist seminaries offer heavy up-front discounts to SBC members. PCA's MNA committee funds church-planting-track students. AG's Ministerial Enrichment Fund helps AG students.
Church support
Ask your church about a "seminary support fund" — many congregations quietly cover 25–50% of tuition for members preparing for ministry.
Employer tuition assistance
If you already work in ministry (or a Christian nonprofit), your employer may offer tuition reimbursement — especially for a directly applicable degree.
